Hotel Pest Control in London & the South East

A one-star review mentioning a moth in the wardrobe does more damage than the moth ever could. That’s really the whole problem with pest control in hotels, it’s not just a hygiene issue, it’s a reputation one, and it plays out in public on a booking site rather than quietly behind the scenes.

Crittorz runs hotel pest control contracts across London and the South East, built around the thing that makes hotels different from every other commercial site: you can’t just shut the building and treat it. Guests are in rooms. Restaurants are serving. Someone’s checking in at 11pm regardless of what’s happening three floors up.

Hotel contracts are quoted per property, based on room count and site layout.

Built Around Occupancy, Not the Other Way Round

Treatment gets scheduled floor by floor, wing by wing, or overnight, whatever fits how the hotel actually runs. Housekeeping know when we're coming. Reception don't have to explain anything to anyone. A guest in room 214 has no reason to know anything happened in 213 the week before.

That's the standard we work to. If a guest notices, something's gone wrong with how it was planned, not just how it was carried out.

Every Part of the Building, Not Just the Rooms

Rooms get the attention because that's where complaints come from, but most infestations start somewhere else. Kitchens and food stores carry the same legal requirements as any commercial kitchen. Laundry rooms, often warm, often damp, are exactly the conditions moths and other insects look for. Plant rooms, loading bays, and waste areas are usually where rodents get in to begin with, long before anyone sees anything upstairs.

One contract covers all of it, rather than treating the visible parts and leaving the source untouched.

What a Hotel Contract Typically Includes

Room and corridor checks on a rolling schedule
Kitchen and food store treatment to the same standard as a standalone restaurant
Laundry and linen store treatment for moths and fabric pests
Bait stations and proofing across plant rooms, loading bays, and waste areas
Bird proofing where roofs, balconies, or courtyards are affected
Full paperwork ready for food hygiene inspections, insurance, or franchise audits

Why It Matters More in Hotels Than Almost Anywhere Else

A restaurant with a pest problem loses that night's covers. A hotel with a pest problem loses a review that sits on the listing for years and gets read by everyone deciding whether to book. Franchise standards and brand audits often go further than the legal minimum too, so what passes an EHO inspection isn't always what passes a brand compliance check. Worth knowing which standard your contract's actually being held to.

Hotel Pest Control FAQs

Will guests know anything's happening?

Not if it's planned properly. Treatment is scheduled around occupancy and housekeeping so it's invisible to anyone staying in the hotel.

Can you treat rooms that are currently occupied?

Generally no, and we wouldn't want to. Rooms get treated when empty, between guests, or on a rolling schedule that works round the booking calendar.

Do you cover kitchens and food stores as part of a hotel contract?

Yes, to the same standard as a standalone restaurant, since the legal requirements are the same regardless of what else is in the building.

What about franchise or brand compliance audits, not just EHO?

Yes, we can align treatment records and reporting to whatever standard your brand or franchise requires, not just the legal minimum.

How quickly can you respond if something's found mid-stay?

Same day, in most cases, particularly for wasps or anything urgent. Larger issues get an initial response fast and a fuller plan agreed straight after.

Do you cover hotels outside London?

Yes. Core coverage is London and the South East, with technicians further out for hotel groups with sites elsewhere.
